Terms of Service

Effective: January 1, 2026. Last updated: January 1, 2026. By using Lens, you agree to these terms.

Acceptance Of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Dreamers Anonymous LLC ("we," "us," "our") for your use of Lens Journal ("Lens") — our website, apps, and related services. By creating an account or using Lens, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Lens.

These Terms do not limit any rights you have that cannot be waived under applicable law (for example, certain consumer rights in the EU, UK, or your jurisdiction).

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Lens. Lens is not intended for children under 13; we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, you must be at least 16 years old (or the applicable age of consent in your country) to use Lens. By using Lens, you represent that you meet these age requirements and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

The Service

Lens is a private-by-default reflective journaling tool. It helps you capture reflections, organize your thoughts, and (where your plan allows) receive AI-generated reflective responses (e.g., Reflect, Clarify, Orient lenses). Lens is designed to support reflection and orientation — not to replace your judgment, provide professional advice, or tell you what to do. Availability and features may change over time; we do not guarantee uninterrupted access or specific outcomes.

Not Therapy / Not Medical / Not Crisis Service

Lens is not therapy, counseling, medical care, psychiatric or psychological treatment, or diagnosis. It is a reflective journaling tool. Nothing in Lens or in any AI-generated output constitutes professional advice — medical, legal, financial, or otherwise. You remain solely responsible for your decisions and well-being.

Our AI features are designed to reflect back what you have written and to support your own reflection. They do not provide professional advice and may be incomplete or inaccurate. Do not rely on Lens or its outputs for high-stakes decisions, including those related to health, safety, legal matters, or finances.

If you or someone else is in immediate danger — including risk of self-harm or harm to others — please contact your local emergency services or a crisis helpline. Lens is not a crisis or emergency service. Our systems may detect language that suggests risk and may route you to a calmer response or crisis resources; we do not guarantee crisis intervention or monitoring.

User Accounts

To use Lens, you may need to create an account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

User Content

Ownership: You retain ownership of the content you create in Lens (e.g., journal entries, reflections). We do not claim ownership of your content.

License to us: To operate Lens, you grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, process, and display your content to you within Lens — and to use it only as necessary to provide, improve, and secure Lens (including AI-generated responses based on your entries). We do not use your content to train models for other users or products. This license ends when you delete content or close your account, except where we must retain it for legal or safety reasons (e.g., backups, compliance).

Your responsibility: You must have the right to submit any content you add to Lens. You may not upload content that infringes others' rights, is illegal, or violates these Terms.

AI Features And Limitations

Lens uses AI to generate reflective responses (e.g., lens outputs) based on what you write. AI outputs are for reflection only and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable. They are not professional advice. You must use your own judgment and should not rely on Lens or its AI for medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical decisions.

We do not guarantee any particular outcome from using Lens or its AI features. For safety reasons, we may limit or disable AI in certain situations (e.g., when our systems detect content that may indicate risk). In those cases, we may show a calmer response or crisis resources; we do not provide crisis services ourselves.

Safety And Prohibited Use

You may not use Lens for any illegal purpose, to plan or encourage harm to yourself or others, to distribute malware, to scrape or automate access in violation of our systems, or to violate these Terms or applicable law. We may suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or for security or abuse prevention. We do not monitor all content; we may act on reports, automated signals, or other information as we deem appropriate.

Subscriptions, Trials, Billing

Paid plans: If you subscribe to a paid plan, you will be billed in accordance with the plan you chose (e.g., monthly or annually). Subscription fees are billed in advance and generally are non-refundable except where required by law (e.g., certain consumer rights in the EU, UK, or your jurisdiction). If we offer a free trial, we will tell you the terms (e.g., duration, what happens when the trial ends). You may cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged.

Auto-renewal: Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. We will charge the payment method on file at the then-current price. You can cancel renewal from your account settings or by contacting us. You can cancel at any time before the renewal date to avoid future charges. Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period; you will retain access until then.

Price changes: We may change subscription prices with reasonable notice. If you do not agree to a price change, you may cancel before the change takes effect.

Taxes: Prices are in the currency shown; you are responsible for any applicable taxes unless we are required to collect them.

Intellectual Property

Lens (including its design, code, branding, and materials) is owned by Dreamers Anonymous LLC or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from Lens except as allowed by these Terms or with our written permission. "Lens," "Lens Journal," and related marks are our trademarks.

Third-Party Services

Lens uses third-party services (e.g., for authentication, payments, hosting, AI). Those services have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services. Links to third-party sites or services are for your convenience; we do not endorse or control them.

Privacy

Your use of Lens is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using Lens, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers

LENS IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT LENS WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE. YOU USE LENS AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Limitation Of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE (AND OUR OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS) WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF LENS OR THESE TERMS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO LENS OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (OR, IF YOU HAVE NOT PAID, ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages; in those jurisdictions, our liability will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law (including for death, personal injury, or fraud).

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Dreamers Anonymous LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your use of Lens, your content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law. We reserve the right to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter subject to indemnification by you; you agree to cooperate with us. This indemnification obligation applies to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Termination

You may stop using Lens at any time. You may close your account through your account settings or by contacting us. If you close your account, we will handle your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy (including retention and deletion). Downgrading or pausing your plan does not by itself delete your reflections; access may depend on your plan. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or for other reasons we deem necessary (e.g., security, abuse).

Changes To Service Or Terms

We may change Lens (including features and availability) or these Terms from time to time. We will post updated Terms on this page and update the "Last updated" date. For material changes, we may notify you by email or through the product. Your continued use of Lens after the effective date of the changes constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree to the new Terms, you may stop using Lens and close your account. If you have a paid subscription and materially object to a change, you may have rights under applicable law (e.g., to cancel and request a refund where required).

Governing Law And Dispute Resolution

Jurisdiction carve-out: These Terms do not limit any mandatory consumer rights you have under the laws of your country of residence (for example, in the EU, UK, or other jurisdictions where certain terms cannot be waived). Where those laws apply, you may have the right to bring claims in the courts of your habitual residence and to benefit from mandatory consumer protection provisions.

For users in the United States (where no mandatory consumer law overrides): These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising out of or related to Lens or these Terms will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

For users in the EU/UK (where applicable): If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you may bring legal proceedings in the courts of your country of residence. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
